Anti-Inflammatory & Pain Management

As I have previously mentioned, there is a time and place for modern medicine. However, be mindful that you always have other options.

Functional foods can be incorporated into the fabric of our lives to target and reverse present inflammation and thus pain.

An anti-inflammatory way of life includes the addition of...

+Fruits: Berries and cherries! My favorite pain management tip to date: Concentrated Black Cherry Juice by Dynamic Health, Certified Organic preferably! Consume 1 tablespoon, 3 times per day, during your meals, if you're in need of fruit servings. Consider enjoying juice between meals if your breakfast, lunch, and dinners are already rich in servings of fruit! Don't waste your time and money on other juices or companies! I've done the dirty work for you! From my experience, If your diligent with my recommendation listed above, once you consume your first order, you will be eager to place another due to a significant reduction in aches and pains!

+Organic Green Leafy Vegetables: My favorites include bok choy, collard greens, kale (curly and dragon's leaf), and spinach. Prepared raw in the form of a salad or sautéed in a high heat cooking oil, such as organic canola, organic almond, or organic avocado oil. Choosing a high heat cooking oil decreases your chances of denaturing the oil during the cooking process. Denaturing oils unfortunately cause an increase in inflammation and thus pain. For a sizable punch of anti-inflammatory power, organic canola oil provides a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids per serving, being 1 tablespoon.

+Olive Oils: Recommended for flavor enhancement rather than cooking, to avoid denaturing the oils. Consider walnut infused and/or truffle mushroom infused olive oils to add additional anti-inflammatory and medicinal properties. The Oilerie is my favorite place to shop for oils to date.

+Fatty Fish

+Organic Nuts: English walnuts and almonds. If you want an extra bang for your buck choose the organic english walnuts as they too are a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids per serving, being 1 ounce. Purchase from the bulk food section so you invest in the quantity you desire. Consider buying an affordable food scale at an establishment such as Target or Meijer. You don't have to measure all the time but use this tool to get a better idea of what a serving looks like! Double check your ability to portion control by using your food scale, from time to time. Enjoy organic nuts alone as a snack; a topper to your organic green leafy vegetables; or consider making your very own nut milk!
