Ayurvedic Milk | Kicking Coffee

Updated: Jan 28, 2022

* SPOKEN WORD *

Comfortably sitting in maintenance phase and enjoying my Tea for Two. I can't help but notice I miss the creamy sensation of a latte. In an attempt to avoid a lapse, Ayurvedic milk came into my life at the most perfect moment in time!

This recipe is technically recommended to be consumed in the evening hours before bed as a way to satisfy the body and stabilize the blood sugar. This prevents one from waking in the middle of the night as a result of low blood sugar levels. I do find this treat satisfying during my evening shuffle, as I prepare for bedtime. Mostly, I enjoy this recipe upon waking in the morning as a replacement to my previous house-made latte.

(Step 1) Gather essentials, organic ingredients when available and possible:

-Local honey

-Ground cinnamon

-(Optional): leftover cinnamon bark from Ayurvedic Cleanse

(Step 2) Warm 10-ounces of rice milk, per person, on stove. *Don't overheat or separation will result. *If separation occurs, you will still have a tasty beverage thankfully but it will present being less visually appealing.

(Step 3) Add 1-teaspoon of local honey to each serving mug.

(Step 4) Shake ground cinnamon into each serving mug. Amount should be based on each individual's personal preference for cinnamon. *I add eight shakes to my mug but I really like that number and cinnamon! Hehehe!

(Step 5) Add warm milk to serving mugs and mix well!

(Step 6) Garnish with cinnamon bark!

(Step 7) Enjoy!

Now when I'm craving a creamy latte, I happily enjoy this substitute, Ayurvedic milk! The former would provide my being with high caffeine content and the latter with zero! When I need a pick-me-up, I can still lean on my Organic White Peach Blossom Tea by Rishi! Supplying low caffeine content with long lasting energy, zero jitters, and no highs and lows that coffee is so well known for!

With the introduction of Ayurvedic milk to my routine, I avoid a lapse back into coffee dependance. I can't help but notice, I'm taking another healthy step down the ladder regarding caffeine intake, as I often choose Ayurvedic milk over white tea! Kicking coffee in 2021 is going very, very well!
