Charging Stations & Cosmic Connections

Updated: Jan 28, 2022

* SPOKEN WORD added 10.16.21 *

Are places and souls that restore balance to our beings in unfathomable ways.

I am so intensely drawn to water that I consider oceans, rivers, waterfalls and lakes to be the foundation of my personal charging stations. I am not a fish. I don't much care to enter the bodies of water but I am enchanted by their energy and power. I love to go out of my way to reach one of my favorite destinations (charging stations) to sit, walk and flow in meditation; to practice my yogic way of life. These locations and experiences recalibrate my being allowing me to reaching a state of equilibrium never felt before.

It is important to develop a deep and respectful relationship with ourselves. When we are truly in tune, we can more easily provide our being with exactly what it needs in any given moment. This personal relationship allows us to work towards becoming and redefining the very best versions of ourselves.

If you too are moved by water, you should consider a few of my favorite charging stations for your bucket list:

(1) El Matador State Beach, Malibu, California

(2) Chimney Rock, North Carolina or Chimney Rock State Park to admire the Broad River

(3) Lake Lure, North Carolina

Chimney Rock and Lake Lure, North Carolina are neighbors, making it super easy to visit both locations during the same adventure!

*How many charging stations do you currently have?

*How often do you make time to visit your charging stations to restore your peace and balance?

*When is your next scheduled visit to a charging station? What are you waiting for?

How often one should visit charging stations is very personal. For my being, I prefer to experience a charging station at least weekly.

(4) Strouds Run State Park, Athens, Ohio

(5) Ash Cave, Hocking Hills State Park, Creola, Ohio

Cosmic connections are relationships built between two souls lasting lifetimes. I do strongly believe in reincarnation. Much like charging stations, interacting with our cosmic connections help to recalibrate our beings to reach a state of equilibrium never felt before.

On the winter solstice, Friday, December 21st, 2018, during a full moon, one of my cosmic connections reentered the spiritual realm. She too went by the name of Maggie. In this lifetime she held many titles dear to me: friend, mother figure, teacher, role model, reiki master and massage therapist. I miss interacting with her physically but spiritually I feel her presence daily. I truly understand that energy can not be destroyed but in fact changes forms and can be accessed anytime with an open mind and heart.

If my memory serves me correctly, I most recently met Maggie during my freshman year of high school and remained close ever since. She was a soul that I instantly connected with. I felt as though I had met her before but could not put a place or time to the sensation. Our bond, very strong and our energies very compatible.

In the physical form, she currently lives within my heart and within the hearts of the countless others she profoundly touched. When I think of her, which is often, I am always reminded of a lyric by the amazing and talented Trevor Hall:

"My love, it's just a reminder, find your center."

Maggie had an amazing way of empowering me to restore needed peace and balance within my being. If I was fearful and felt unready for a life altering change, she had a magical way of appearing to stop time to encourage me to move in the direction best for my being. She is a source of great inspiration and enlightenment for my soul.

Together we created my all-time favorite yoga pose, which we call "Seaweed." This pose is designed to build and maintain spinal mobility. I practice seaweed daily alone and with every client of mine, always thinking of Maggie and my connection to her.

I am lucky enough to have other cosmic connections in the physical form but the details of these individuals will be saved for other stories!

This blog post was written on a bridge, over a waterway, leading into the woods of Westerville, Ohio. A very special thank you to the city and community of Westerville for allowing this magical location to be accessible to the pubic!

*Special Addition: at the conclusion of typing this blog post a baby bunny rabbit came to visit me. The baby bunny rested on the tops of my feet and was very receptive and thankful for the yogic massage and cuddles I provided. It was a magical moment that lasted for around thirty minutes under a beautiful blue sky. It was very difficult to say goodbye to the baby bunny but necessary to arrive to my next yoga class in a timely manner. Being that this moment was very uncharacteristic for a baby bunny, I wondered if it was one of my cosmic connections visiting in a different form!
