* SPOKEN WORD *
I love small quaint towns steeped in history! I have a passion for travel, adventure, and experiencing new destinations!
If you've never visited Mt. Dora, Florida, I highly recommended adding this charming location to your to-do list! Visit while the weather is warm and welcoming and when your transit has no risk for snow and ice!
I'm not a particularly fancy individual and I don't require a 5-star hotel experience. I prefer a mom-and-pop, one of a kind location to rest my head at night.
If I had it my way, I would only stay at Lakeside Inn when visiting Mt. Dora, Florida! Established in 1883, you can feel the energy of the past as you move through this historic estate. Post cards displayed on the property depict life for the bygone and previously forgotten. The Inn is seated on a beautiful lake as their name implies and you're already in town; simply turn the corner and your adventure begins!
Need coffee or tea to start your day? Visit One Flight Up Cafe!
Once you're energized, nourishment is up next! Breakfast is best purchased at the Juize Box where you can order organic cold-pressed juices, smoothies, and acai bowls! Take your breakfast across the street to the beautiful park and delight in a picnic and quality time with nature!
Enjoy the town! It's adorable and everyone is open for business! My Peaceful Treasures, a metaphysical boutique, is my favorite Mt. Dora shopping experience! The energy is soothing and embracing and the enchanted space is stocked with yoga and meditation essentials!
When you get hungry for lunch visit The Salted Fry, a gluten-free delicious eatery! I ordered Belgian-Style Fries with truffle aioli and their tuna sandwich, which was served on the most delectable gluten-free bread. I spoke to the owner hoping to get the brand name of his bread but he rightfully chose to be secretive, noting it was imported from Canada and that's it! As you can see from the picture below, I also travel with my own sauce and enjoyed a Ciderboys!
Perhaps you would enjoy resting, reading, and meditating by the water at Lakeside Inn as you workup an appetite for dinner! Do you love sushi? If so, visit JK Thai Garden & Sushi! I started with their fresh roll or summer roll off their garden menu and asked for sweet chili sauce to replace their peanut sauce. Peanuts are considered a high allergen food causing irritation and inflammation to the body, which I do my best to avoid. My appetizer was followed by their eel and salmon roll! Lately, eel is my favorite!
After dinner and on your way back to the Inn for a peaceful night's rest, make one final epic stop at STUDIO ART FARM! A breathtaking gallery with delightful vibrations! Consider a walking meditation through their space as you practice mindfulness and deeply contemplate each piece! If you fancy their artwork on display and would prefer not to live without, consider a souvenir for your home space to remind you of the necessity for travel, adventure, and experiencing new destinations!
Hoping you make you way to Mt. Dora, Florida sooner rather than later!
