Discovering Your Inner Child
* SPOKEN WORD *
I'm really not sure why the majority of us leave our inner child in the depths of our past. I do know this tendency is a problem that desperately needs addressed worldwide. Perhaps in our younger years we're so focused on the desire to grow up and the benefits associated that we fail to see the beauty in keeping our inner child close at heart.
The intention of this expression is to help you get in touch with your inner child and to encourage maintaining contact for eternity. Even though my request may seem a little silly at first, discovering your inner child and ensuring a long lasting relationship will bring more balance, harmony, enjoyment, and fulfillment into your life; I promise!
The following meditation is a great starting point in discovering your inner child:
After completing your guided meditation I would encourage you to set a date (in the very near future) with your favorite kid! Not to be a parental figure but to be their friend for an adventure!
Practicing what I preach, I actively kept my inner child in the forefront of my mind for the following adventure. I chose Liam to help bring out the very best version of my inner child. He's my favorite kid for sure; he's ten years young. Our location was Winter Haven, Florida, LEGOLAND! His parents were present too!
*We danced like no one was watching!
*We played like there would be no tomorrow!
*We even purchased souvenirs to ensure the fun continued even after the park closed for the day!
*We never neglected our exercises! When waiting in long lines due to strict sanitation procedures you would find us practicing yoga, tai chi, qigong, and karate! With social distancing, keeping six feet from strangers, we had plenty of room for activities; we had plenty of space to be kids and yogis!
*We even ensured time for relaxation and restoration after a full day at LEGOLAND and their waterpark!
For as long as I can remember we're asked what we want to be when we're all grown up. The seed is planted young to be something other than a child. Regardless of what you choose as an adult, be sure you keep your inner child at heart forever and always! Taking it one step further consider resisting asking little ones, too early and too often, to leave their present and consider their future as an adult. Maybe their better off in the present moment, which appears effortless to them; simply being kids! Maybe we have a lot to learn from our youth!
*When do you plan on completing your inner child meditation? Should you schedule the meditation into your calendar? I don't accomplish much without scheduling! Maybe you're like me?
*What adventure will you be going on in the very near future?
*Which child will you choose to accompany you on your adventure in hopes of bringing out the very best version of your inner child?
Peace, Love, & Everlasting Protection!
