Summer Sausage

Personal chef turned blogger one of my favorite creations is now yours!


When healthy alternatives taste better than the items they were meant to replicate you can easily label the products as amazing! Introducing the very best sausage and hot dog bun on the market! These items just happen to be a plant based vegan sausage and a gluten free bun handmade in Cincinnati, Ohio and delicious enough to serve at the Shoe in Columbus!


(Step 1) Gather essentials, organic ingredients if possible, at least NON-GMO Project Verified:

-Honey

-Dijon Mustard

-Sweet Relish

-Beyond Meat, Beyond Sausage (providing 16 grams of protein per serving, soy & gluten free, kosher, with NO GMOS) I purchase at Raisin Rack, in Westerville, Ohio

-Sonny Marie's Gluten Free Hot Dog Buns (dairy free) I also purchase this product at Raisin Rack, in Westerville, Ohio

-Sliced Okra

-Shiitake Mushrooms


(Step 2) Preheat oven or toaster oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit


(Step 3) Using coconut oil, pan sauté sliced okra and mushroom caps on medium heat. Sauté time will depend on whether or not your veggies are frozen. Use your intuition and feel free to taste test veggies along the way!


(Step 4) Toast bun in oven for about 5 minutes, may require additional time if frozen solid.


(Step 5) Add Beyond Sausage to pan when the veggies are just about finished! Cook sausage for 6 minutes turning frequently!


(Step 6) Build your masterpiece! Sweet relish and mustard to taste! Veggies can be served plain or with a sprinkle of Mrs. Dash!


(Step 7) Enjoy!
