The very best granola money can buy!

Updated: Dec 18, 2020

* SPOKEN WORD *

Historically speaking, I've viewed granola as more of a dessert food being that it typically contains large amounts of various sweeteners and thus carbohydrates. Personally and professionally, I've prepared many different varieties of granola all containing boatloads of honey and maple syrup. I consider both honey and maple syrup to be two of the healthiest forms of adding sweetness to a creation in the kitchen but too much of a good thing is not necessarily better.

I can't say I've been consciously searching for a perfect granola but this past week it surely made it's way on to my spoon! Sweet & Salty Kettle Granola by THE SAFE + FAIR FOOD COMPANY, as the name implies, delivers the most wonderful blend of sweetness and salt!

Honestly, I love popcorn but had to give it up years ago due to the kernels being terrible for my dental health. This granola reminds me of a mild (in sweetness) form of my long lost love, kettle popcorn! THE SAFE + FAIR FOOD COMPANY uses brown rice syrup and cane sugar to flavor their delicious offering; I consider both forms of sweetness to be healthy in moderation. Their serving size of 1/3 cup granola is super satisfying on top of yogurt, for one example, and provides only 21 grams of carbohydrates; absolutely amazing!

THE SAFE + FAIR FOOD COMPANY clearly has high standards for this product offering consumers clean and simple ingredients. It's also FREE of nine food allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, milk, egg, wheat, soy, shellfish, fish, and sesame) without compromising flavor or satisfaction! They use no artificial ingredients, no preservatives, no high fructose corn syrup (HFCS), no deadly trans fats, and no genetically modified organisms. Their granola is certified vegan and gluten free; utilizing ancient grains! If you thought this product could not get any better, you're wrong; as a portion of their proceeds go directly to Stanford University for allergy and asthma research!

On August 15th, 2020, I published blog post #59, sharing my favorite yogurts on the market. Today I have a new yogurt recommendation that pairs perfectly with this granola! Oui, coconut dairy alternative by Yoplait! Their flavor offerings include vanilla, mango, strawberry, and raspberry! I've never been a fan of raspberries or products flavored as such but the other three varieties I can strongly recommend! Each yogurt is stored in a cute little glass cup, which I've recycled as the perfect orange juice glass and containers for small decorative candles! If you love yogurt and making, gifting, or selling homemade candles these little glass jars would make for an awesome inventory!

A single serving of dairy-free yogurt topped with 1/3 cup of Sweet & Salty Kettle Granola plus a drizzle of honey should provide around 45 grams of carbohydrates and serve as a delicious and nutritious breakfast! Gooooooood Morning!

Peace, Love, & Everlasting Protection!

Namaste,

Maggie
