  1. Routine Intraoral Massages, which include a deep tissue massage of the jaw, neck, and shoulders, with the fabulous Codi at Thrive Massage & Wellness, 830 E Johnstown Road, Unit B, Columbus, Ohio 43230, Gahanna area, 614-473-1000 - If you learn to appreciate Codi as much as I do, make a monthly commitment to your wellbeing by agreeing to membership pricing. You simply prepay for at least one massage monthly and as a result you save $30 per experience! It's a win/win by my standards! My body has never felt better! Codi is so very talented at her craft, and such a gift to our community! She books up fast! Don't delay, schedule today!

  2. Visit the Yogic Massage Room at TheGuestBungalow.com - select video number three, Yogic Face Massage, as a form of Acupressure. I personally complete this practice nightly about 99.99% of the time! During my younger years, I struggled with daily pain within my head and this practice now serves as preventative medicine for me! I'm clearly in love!

  3. Visit the Contemplation Room at TheGuestBungalow.com - select video number ten, Mirror Meditation. As you complete this self-gazing practice, contemplate why you are experiencing this pain on a regular basis. Feel free to get in touch to report on your findings! The results are always so intriguing to me!

  4. Visit the Yog Nidra Room, Route to Peace, Stillness, & Contentment at TheGuestBungalow.com! If you have the time, make it a day retreat and enjoy all 13 videos within this magical space. If you're pressed for time, skip to completing video 11 through 13. *Pro Tip: It's better to experience Yog Nidra, Steps 11-13 than to not experience Yog Nidra because you're waiting for the perfect moment in time to complete all 13 videos in one day.

    This room, often helps one...

    1. identify discomfort and imbalance

    2. sit with these realities

    3. determine realistic ways to move through the pain and arrive at the peace, stillness, and contentment that is often on the other side, simply waiting for our arrival

    4. if you want to unpack your findings together, never hesitate to get in touch for a private session! 614-719-9616

  5. Breathwork: a lack of oxygen can cause headaches. Inhale to the count of six, exhale to the count of six, all through the nose. Visit the Breathing Room at  TheGuestBungalow.com for other breathwork exercises.

  6. Consider Herbal Medicine:

    1. Cayenne helps to thin the blood, which reduces pain and supports beneficial blood flow. Personally, I put this herb on almost everything as I'm constantly focused on improving my circulation.

    2. Chamomile soothes tension and relaxes muscles but don't consume if you're allergic to ragweed. Do not use when pregnant or nursing. Avoid this herb if you're prescribed warfarin or cyclosporine.

    3. Ginger has been shown to be helpful in relieving pain during several clinical studies. I always have organic ginger juice in my fridge and find a way to mix a teaspoon into my meals almost daily.

    4. Valerian root tea is a good sedative to take during a headache.

    5. Lavender, mint, rosemary, and thyme are other herbs that may be helpful in relieving headache pain.

  7. Make sure you're well hydrated! Dehydration can lead to headaches. Need help determining your fluid needs?

  8. Digestive: consider a bowel cleanse, which can remove toxins that cause many headaches. I always recommend a buddy system for safety reasons.

  9. Nutritionally:

    1. Include protein with each well-balanced meal and snack. Need help meal planning? Need a personal chef?

    2. Consider avoiding the following: aspartame (equal, NutraSweet); MSG (monosodium glutamate); nitrites (hot dogs, luncheon meats)

    3. Consider consuming the following to stabilize swings in blood sugar: almonds (including their milk), watercress, parsley, fennel, garlic, cherries, and pineapple

  10. Maintain good posture as poor alignment may cause decreased blood flow to the brain, resulting in pain: roll your shoulders back and down as you allow your head to float up like a balloon, always attempting to be the tallest version of yourself.

    1. If you're interested in visiting a Chiropractor, I could not recommend Dr. Watson more!

    2. Consider purchasing this Neck Cloud pillow for a 10-minute practice daily. I enjoy a meditative practice while receiving my neck adjustment on 99.99% of my days. This tool allows for a "Strong Stretch" and a "Gentle Stretch" - always use the Strong setting for the best head positioning and results.

  11. Sufficient sleep is imperative! Add grapefruit to your meal plan to help support good sleep. Making sure your room is kept cool is beneficial in preventing headaches.

  12. Allergies can cause headaches. Have you had an allergy test? Environmental and Dietary?

  13. Regular exercise can help prevent headaches and may also reduce the frequency and severity of migraines. Need an exercise accountability partner? I'm now a Certified Personal Trainer, CPT! *Talk to your health care provider before using exercise to control your pain. Always STOP physical activity if your pain worsens with exercise.

  14. Keep a headache log to help your health care providers better understand your experience. Document for at least two months, noting the time of each headache and describing the pain.

  15. Cold therapy: apply a cold compress to the spot from which the pain is radiating. Place a damp washcloth in the freezer for 10-minutes or use a cold gel pack to help ease muscles and relieve headaches.

  16. Heat therapy: in the form of a pad, hot water bottle, or towel can be applied to the neck/shoulder area.

  17. Do you have a carbon monoxide detector? A leaking furnace, gas range, and water heaters can poison the air and lead to painful headaches. In addition to a detector, I have this Air Doctor Purifier in my office space/production studio and I could not be more satisfied with this purchase and the quality of air it produces for my space.
